Not even a shop light or something like that? The most expensive Led light i got was only $45. I think. Idk for sure, hubby ordered them.
That’s not really an option. But I can put them on an east facing or west facing porch.
Goat protection and more light!

Getting beds ready at the farm. I’m building up the ground with “muck” which is basically hay and poop. I’m putting the pallets on top of that and adding a layer of goat poop and composted poop, and then my soil. This is a bed for sunflowers and popcorn and will not be consumed during the summer, so it’s allowed! :yesss:

ok these are not great pics but I think you can get the idea..... this is what I use for "grow lights". It is simply a 4 foot shop light with one "warm" (slightly red ) bulb and one "cool" (slightly blue) bulb. I hang mine from a pvc frame with a chain and use "cup hooks" to make the adjustment easy and keep it even on both sides. The key is to keep the light about 1/4 inch from the plants. I have used these for about 7 years and had the Best luck with my starts this way

I love my LED grow lights!

Alright! I’ve got the bed finished and full of composted manure. I’ve tauggt the kids to call it “black gold.”

So today DH suggested there may not be enough direct light. :barnie I’m timing it today, fingers crossed. :fl If not then I’ll just plant something other than corn and sunflowers.

Dark stuff is “black gold.” Lighter underneath is the top of the sand layer.
