Ameraucanas are not a colorful, varying breed with various egg colors - They're a recognized, pure breed and not offered by the hatchery. Most chickens sold as Araucanas are NOT Ameraucanas, they're Easter Eggers. The sad part is, if you try and ask hatcheries to tell the truth or ask them why they don't have real Ameraucanas - They either do not respond or like Ideal, they will swear up and down that their birds are real Ameraucanas, even if you give them solid evidence that they're not.
