Maybe later on this year. I'm so swamped with garden work and chickens I can barely think. My mom had a stroke, then dislocated her hip and I have to do a lot for her too. She is able to do a lot for herself with a grabber and things to help her. She is amazing.
Sorry about your mom, my grandmother had a stroke about 7 months ago she is doing a lot better but I know it's hard

It's been a hard summer for me. I can't seem to sell chicks, Lost 3 banty orpingtons in the heat, one banty orp chick, and one chocolate laced hen. I sold my flock of chocolate laced since they didn't sell, and were always broody. I can't even sell eggs! Sucks to be me.
I cant even sell silkie pullets! So dont feel bad all i sold this year was 5 hens so process the rest will go this week

Not much new here, just popping by! It was a rough summer for my lavender Ameraucana Fluff…he got dry pox and near the end of the virus he started molting hard 🥴 He was away from the flock for so long and got so weak that he’s afraid of his own shadow now and the bantam Cochin rooster has kicked him out of the coop. I had to move him to my closed up teenager pullet coop to let him get thru his molt and get his strength back, but I feel bad for him. I’m probably going to have to isolate the bantam boy for awhile and restart the pecking order. Poor Fluff 😭 He’s just the best boy. He loves to just sleep in your arms, and he literally has zero aggressiveness towards anyone. That’s why I knew I could shut him in with the teenagers and they’d be fine. He leaves them completely alone and they all snuggle up together at night. I really want him to regain his confidence and make babies with Marshmallow and eventually Raven 😍 I’ve read lavender with blues is a bad combo, so no Amy babies for now…but Raven might already be split to lavender so they could make lavs or black Ams. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻
He's so sweet, poor guy! Can't wait to see some offspring from him!

Can young black Ameraucanas look greyish? He/She is only 8 weeks old. When it was a chick it was black and cream/yellow and the blues I got where greyish and cream/yellow. But now the one that was a black looks like the blues as well. Should have banded it before now lol.

I ordered blues in a different order. The black was ordered with lavenders. They are from Cackle.
:hmm

Hmmm there are some very dark blues so it’s possible they accidentally gave you a blue. But I thought all of my black d’Anver chicks were blue because of how dull gray they were as chicks. And they are definitely black now. Do you have any pictures of them? :)
