I am talking Sussex, only one I have been to. They are good about that stuff as long as you give them PLENTY of notice before they write up the coop card and organize the show cages.

I emailed and asked if he should be withdrawn. I wouldn't mind showing 19 instead of 20.

Where is the Delmarva show? Are you going to the Sussex one?

Last show I had a black bearded silkie or so I thought and when bathing him to my horror I noticed hidden white feathers in between the toes so I changed him to AOV and he did fine but I wouldn't show him again. He has sired some SQ chicks though in blue and black.

You said...

He is not breed worthy. He will be DQ'd for foreign color if shown.

Well show was yesterday and.....that is NOT WHAT the judge thought. I asked if I should withdraw or change color to AOV and was told it was my choice so I decided to changed his color to AOV and he took Best of Breed up against 2 blacks, a blue and a buff!!!!

CONGRATS

but the thing that gripes me is when judges dont recongnize a real ameraucana vs and EE i went to a lebanon indiana show last weekend and there was maybe one true ameraucana in the whole place and there were alot of "ameraucanas" and out of those an EE won everything!!!! im not saying you boy is bad at least he is the real deal but man i should take some of my EE's to a show OMGosh its just a little pet peive of mine is EE's at shows!!!

I don't want to be rude but that bird looks like an EE to me. I have seen EE's win as Ameraucana in small shows where there were a few other Ameraucana its usually shows where the judges arn't accredited.

He hatched from a blue egg, As for EE's I have none of them but they can hatch from and lay other color eggs. Mine are all blue and blue green layers and hatched from eggs of the same.

Judges were Brian Knox:NH, Jamie Matts:NY, Dwight Scott:NY & Jerry Yeaw:RI.

I know Jamie judged the araucanas so he may have done the ameraucanas as they were next to each other but I don't know for sure as I wasn't watching at the time.

I thought my females looked better pictured on page one of this post, but I was not the judge.

Just thought you guys would find it curious and I am glad I didn't withdraw him.
