Well as I said, it was a sanctioned show and I wrote the person in charge and offered to withdraw or change to AOV and was advised to change to AOV but to know I wouldn't be able to get BB and that is what I did. So I was puzzled but also happy when he got the BB.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder I guess. I had one judge complain one of my hens was too small and then a year later she was still the same size and he gave her BB which she usually gets anyway so maybe it is in how they are feeling that day. Who knows?
Like when I am at the eye doctor he is testing my eyes and he says number one or number two, number three or number four and I have hardly had a chance to focus...just some humor...(I know MUCH more study goes into judging birds but I have to say it to lighten things a bit, he he).

You seem, with a website and selling eggs, to be more of a high profile chicken type person. It would be great to take that opportunity to educate people who come to your farm or buy from you. I always think about what might happen down the road to people with what I help bring into this world. I would never want some a kid to hatch eggs, spend months raising birds, and get DQ at a show bc I didnt make the best choices I could with breeding.
I NEVER sell eggs to kids for 4 H, adults or anyone to show without going over which birds I have that are possible contenders. I usually suggest my araucanas or sometimes ameraucanas (not the ones on my site) or bearded silkies, and my phoenix for that. Many of my customers are more interested in EGG COLOR. That is why I always ask what are the goals such as possible SQ, BQ, just pets, just pretty birds or pretty eggs...and so on before selecting eggs for the person. I get to know them and go from there. You are making this to seem I am misleading the people and as I said those birds pictured presently on my site are only for people who want birds that lay a blue or blue green egg and want those kinds of LAYERS or want bird that look like that. I have a lot of other ameraucanas too and have not had the time to change my pictures yet on my site. I have whites, blues, buff & silver ameraucanas so ease up a little please, my focus is my araucanas anyway. I was just asking a color question
. I have other birds I sell for possible SQ, mostly my araucanas and so forth, I have over 240 birds in 5 different coops. I am very honest with my customers and I have many repeat customers I might add
.
I sincerely appreciate all of your help and input board members.
