I have two 7 week old Ameraucana chickens that are supposed to be pullets. I have no reason to suspect they are cockerels, but I am new to chickens and this breed seems IMG_20190917_144110.jpg really hard to sex! Would love some experienced input! Thank you.

They're actually Easter Eggers and the first one looks to be a Pullet and the second one may be a cockerel. Need a clearer picture of the comb but the legs are thicker and the comb seems shaped more like a typical male pea comb. There's no definite coloration of male on it at this point though so it could be a Pullet.

I'm going with two girls. The first one is a rather unique color- you should hang on to her.

IMG_20190917_144003.jpg This picture is more clear. She is the one I was more curious about since she does seem to have 3 rows of peas in her comb. I don't know if that automatically means male though.

Thank you so much! That first one, she is very beautiful to me too. They both are, but it's nice to hear it from someone else, thank you!

I wouldn't say it's a guarantee but I would say that is very likely a cockerel.

My guess was two pullets until I saw the legs on #2. Now I'm thinking one of each. Yes, this breed can be tricky sometimes.

The legs on her/him do seem a little bigger! Thank you for your thoughts!
