Ameraucana gender @7weeks?

First two eggs! (Yesterday & the day before)
I’d call it an olive green color... so I guess she’s not up to breed standards (& I’ll send a pic to the Ameraucana breeder), but I’ve always wanted an olive layer! 🥰

This is a great thread! Thanks so much for all the pics as she matures. I am watching my 7 week old Ameracauna now and I am really hoping for a pullet :fl

But I'm worried he/she is pinking up a little already. Hard to get good pictures so not even going to post any yet. Lol

This was super helpful to me too! Mine are almost 7 weeks old and these progressions will be super helpful! Thanks!

Curious, are her eggs still green? I was reading that some blue egg layers start out with extra bloom and eventually blue out! Either way, beautiful bird & eggs!

Yes, they are still olive. The breeder was quite surprised when I sent him pics back in June. Here’s the eggs from yesterday with no flash on the left, with flash on the right & a screenshot of my texts with a broken egg to compare inside blue with outside olive (blue with brown bloom). I’m still thrilled with having an olive layer even if she’s supposed to lay blue.
