Ameraucana Genetics Clarification

You won't be able to tell what birds are blue and what are lavender generally. Plus than those birds carry a lavender gene hidden, which can fudge up other programs that buy them
I see. Thanks for that.
I plan on (at some point) working blue and self blue (lavender) OEGB in my projects.
So this information is incredible relevant to me. Thank you again!

I think what the seller was meaning was BBS (Blue, Black, Splash). To my knowledge, no crossing would throw you silvers along with black and splash. That's too my knowledge though, don't write me on that.
Some people get silver and blue mixed up at times, I've had that happen to me before selling some of my bantam's.
I thought so, too. Thanks a bunch!

Thank you
With those percentages it makes the most sense for the breeder to have mistakenly typed "silver" instead of blue. And yes, that is definitely red leakage, which can happen as a result of crossing colors or working on a project. It's "unacceptable" if you're planning on breeding to standard or showing, but could be fine depending on your personal goals.

Those birds are not silver. From the Ameraucana Alliance page:View attachment 4064252Silver hen

Thank you for your input! I am thinking/hoping this is the case. I figured as much about the leakage, but I still have so much to learn! I do not have plans at this time for showing or selling perfect, stellar Ameraucanas, however; I may sell eggs in the somewhat distant future and I would at least like to be able to let people know they are buying guaranteed blue egg layers (and green EEs with potential future Ameraucana x Black Australorp offspring). If that doesn't happen to be the case, I suppose I'll just be selling EE hatching eggs and that's honestly fine.
I'm an open book and won't settle for being anything less than completely transparent with potential buyers, so that's all that is important to me.
Thanks again :)

**UPDATE: Seller admitted being new (not new to chickens or breeding, but new to breeding Ameraucanas) and having not "done this for very long". She stated that "some call them Silver, some call them Blue". I let her know that there are both Blue and Silver (and even Lavender) Ameraucanas and that they are different. Fancy ME, of all people, giving her a lesson in Ameraucana colors!! lol But I did and I believe I did a really good job despite my own limited knowledge (I am a researchaholic and self proclaimed infomaniac, afterall). She states that she did purchase them as pure Ameraucanas from a farm who breeds/raises them, so they are not RK or TSC chickens. She offered the farm's info and more pictures of her flock. I let her know that the ones pictured are BBS and White, and Lavender and provided her a great Ameraucana recognized colors chart and more info on the breed. She thanked me.
Do I think she should be selling *Pure* Ameraucana's to the general public without proper knowledge of the breed that she can pass along to her customers who prioritize purity? No. Do I believe she has true Ameraucanas? Based on the pictures, Yes. Do I believe that's what I'll be getting? Provided she keeps her flocks separate (she also has cochins, Black Copper Marans, and some others), Yes. Do I believe she is dishonest? Not neccessarily; I simply think she isn't volunteering the whole truth (brand-new and has no clue what she's talking about). I mean, just say that.
Anyway, as I stated to someone in this thread, I am not looking to breed/raise/or sell stellar, show quality Ameraucanas (at least not anytime in the foreseeable future), but I DO want to let people know that the egg layers they get will absolutely produce blue eggs as they come from Pure blue egg layers AND I want to be able to produce green laying Easter eggers by crossing said pure Ameraucanas (recognized colors or not) with my Black Australorps. Simply put, I want people to get exactly what I tell them they are going to get when they come to get eggs from me. So, fingers crossed.

**MORE INPUT, PLEASE (sorry for hollering lol)
More pictures from seller of her Ameraucana flock. I'm now nervous.
Please tell me that rooster IS a Splash Ameraucana, albeit a very poor speciment (and NOT an EE) before I ask this woman for a refund.
I'll eat the shipping cost, but I purchased Ameraucanas, not EE and for very specific reasons. I wouldn't mind keeping a couple of the female offspring, but I need and want a true Ameraucana roo for my planned goals.
Talk me down, guys. Tell me it's possible he's a Splash Am with hella leakage...possible Splash Wheaten??? ((sigh)) If not, what would you do in my situation? Thanks again.
