Ameraucana Projects Thread

Here is a pair of second generation lemon cuckoo project chicks. Probably 2 more crosses back to buff needed to get the black out.

What do you think of this for an Ameraucana project? He is an OE roo, but I have some very nice black Am pullets to cross him to. I have a sister of his that I may be able to cross to my black Am cockerel, if I can solve her egg issues. She is all black, but may carry the same genes.

A pair of cuckoo project chicks with leg color pictures. I have several light colored cockerels that I believe have 2 barring genes. Light leg and feather color supports this belief .

more of a olive egger project for me but since crele penedesenca eggs are lighter than other penedesenca thought id share

first cross crele penedesenca x silver Ameraucana
hens. Rooster pic from a few weeks back too

Finally got pics of my last am-bar project hen. My friend that took the main pair culled the male so it is a dead end. This hen is from black sexlink male (red columbian colored EE x barred rock) bred to an EE hen that had awesome partridge patterning. I kept this hen because of her personality, she always comes running up to me whenever she shees me. I have her in a pen with a legbar rooster which should give me autosexing chicks that will also be sexlinked (silver males, gold females) but we will see. So far we haven't had any room in the incubator for her eggs, might just have to find a broody. Oh and for eggs, she lays HUGE eggs that are blue with a slight tint to make them more green.

Here are some second generation chicks on the auto sexing project .

The pullet in the snow is the mother of these chicks .

Nice looking pullet. What does you Red Columbian EE roo look like? I courious as to what folks are calling colors in EE, I have many and in different colors and don't know what to call the color on them.
