Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

Thanks Jeremy.
I think so too. I have her and a very nice shaped Splash to work with. Both of the cockerels I kept are filling in nicely.
One BW and one SW in them also. I do notice however that the BW Roo's comb is bigger that the SW but I like him overall.
I have been keeping and eye out for some hatching eggs. I would like to raise another batch before it gets cold here.
I have become very fond of this breed.

Thanks for the replys

So I have a mutt? It doesn't matter that much as long as I get lots of eggs. That's half of what I bought my chickens for

I'm just curious as to what I have if it's not what I bought is as. His hens looked like ameraucanas but some of the patterns were like EE's and if they aren't EE's what are they???

Not a thing wrong with a mutt. I have a load of EEs. They lay bigger and bluer eggs than my Ameraucanas!

I don't have anything against mutts

My Mutts are the only ones laying right now. Bring on the Mutts, I'm tired of feeding pure bred freeloaders.

It's been a month for one pen and 1/2 a month for the other. I have only gotten one egg from each pen - both gave me a present the day after I got them home and haven't laid since. The two hens are molting, but there is no excuse for the other three pullets that were laying for over a month before we brought them home.

I have no wheatens laying. They are total slackers. But the lavenders are on thier own little bubblegum planet where the sun is always shining and they just keep right on layin!
