What does this mean?

ratio is generally 1:10 for replacement stock.

You end up keeping one bird out of every 10 you hatch? Is that what it means?​

Will do. It's not cheap so I hope they are healthy once they get decrowed.

Yes on average for every 10 hatched 1 will be a keeper for a breeding program.

If you are breeding to the APA SOP the body is the most important part.

If you are breeding to the APA SOP the body is the most important part.

Also remember- when you have multiiple roos growing out together they can be varying sizes. it does not mean that the smaller ones will actually STAY that way. Take the most agressive roo out and the whole dynamic and sizes change. Love how nature works sometimes.

TYPE TYPE TYPE. I just really didn't know if they can get too big? But some of the stuff I have read about size and since they don't weigh birds at shows it may not matter how big he is. He really was my first choice because of his size. So I guess I will be moving the med roo to a pen so I can be hatching from Jumbos offspring too. I don't think there is anything obvious wrong with the girls, so I will pick the biggest girl of the 4 blacks in that pen.

What really do I look for in a pea comb? I know the obvious things for straight combs, but what does a good pea comb look like? One more questions, if I set up two pen for these two roos should I put the jumbo roo with the lav splits and lav and use the med roo with the blacks to make lav splits or the other way around? or just let them all run with the jumbo roo? I will make all the space I can for these birds I just love them!

I may see if I can get him in a pen and see what he really looks like.
