Cost me another Lav split pullet 3 hatching eggs an a roo out of this hatch win win for everyone!
 
I have a few Ameraucana pullets and a cockerel which are the same ages at six months or so. The male wants to mate, but he can't get any of the girls to cooperate. I was out there a few minutes ago and he apparently became enraged when rebuked and grabbed one of the girls by the neck and started twisting his head. Is this something I can look forward to with this breed or will he calm down once they will accept him? He is now in solitary confinement in a rooster pen.
 
Oh I hate overly agressive boys like that. Good thing is- I have only had one ameraucana (out of dozens) that was annoying enough to re-home.
Sometimes reseting the pecking order will help, sometimes not. Good luck!
