See SpeckledHen...I would have guessed your chick is a blue wheaten, too, from that first pic. I thought the coloring looked blue. Very cute, by the way. Pretty chickies!

Well, at least I know it's a cockerel. I'd love to keep him, even though I only have BBS Ameraucana ladies right now.

OK...I was going to go look it up so I wouldn't look dumb, but...it's quicker to ask you guys

How can you already tell he's a cockeral? Is the coloring different at that age?

I thought all my pullets were going to be BW- but even though they still have some blue in their under-feathers, they are obviously wheaten.

They're just the cutest birds! Thanks for getting that pic up for me, chickenstalker. I think it will be more obvious with my boy in a week or so. HappyMtn, thanks for those pics, too. She's a pretty girl and I see what you mean about the bluish feathers.

No, they don't seem to have an ugly phase! I think they're gorgeous at all stages.
