Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

Well.... I take that back. Look what I came home to today!!

Could be any one of 4 pullets. I found the egg sitting next to the water dish. I put a nest box in and all 4 girls were very curious about it so I am gonna have to watch them close. The little egg is so cute! It looked like a little turquoise gem sitting there!

Christie don't crack it! Blow it out and save it. Put it in a cushioned box and take it to your salon and use it as a color match. You could call it something cute like "Ameraucana Blue Nail Special" This could also start you an egg business.

FINALLY!!!!!!!!!! Only took 10 months, but today I got my first egg from one of my Lavs.... Good size and decent color for a first egg - slight crack and indentation on the 'fat' end however. Days are getting longer and hasn't been as cold. Everyone is showing signs that they are not far behind...

Congratulations!!!!!

Anyone interested in Blue Wheaten/Wheaten eggs? I have 6 on my counter (Collected Monday and Tuesday) and I want them to be able to hatch. I have not hatched any - my incubator is full and they just started laying again. I should have another 2-4 tomorrow.

These are from Peachick's line! Two hens are from her own 2011 breeding pen and the other 3 pullets and cockerel was hatched from her eggs.

PM me if you are interested.

Must be something in the air! Spring maybe? I've gotten 3 Ameraucana eggs in the last 3-4 days. Man, I love this time of year!!

God Bless,

Chickee, that chick is so pretty!

I just wanted to pop in and say "Hi!"

I just got two lavender ameraucana chicks that were laid by one BYC member's chickens, shipped to another BYC member who incubated them and sold them to me. My dh says they are by far the prettiest chicks he's ever seen, and I have to admit that I agree. The silver is so beautiful!
