The tiny button quial with the "huge" ameracaunas is a little startling. He's the size of a dice. (really, just as tall, but he dice is wider) Of course, the ameracaunas are less than 24 hours old.

24 weeks old on Sunday and my pips&peeps blue is seriously red and scoping out the nest boxes. First egg must be close ....

(Black girl is pink but not nearly as red as Kelly.)

Gotta love spring in Canada. Definitely brings on the laying. Even my 19 week old olive eggers are red as beets.

My roo is worn out keeping all the girls happy!

My Mille Fleur bantam Cochins are new mommies to 3 BW/W Ameraucanas! They still have more eggs under them, so we will see how it goes. One was shrink wrapped w/ dried blood and dead in the shell... I have 6 more possibilities and 1 bantam MFC egg under them yet.

On a side note... OMG, they are NASTY mommies! My Silkies are so sweet and let me look at the babies without trying to attack me. I swear, I have mini Ostriches attacking me when I look in!

6 out of 7 of my wheaten / Blue wheaten eggs
are developing. I got them from chicken junkies.
I'm so excited can't wait to see little fuzzy butts. :D

That is hilarious...

I have an Araucana hen who belts out a crow every once in a while. Thanks for sharing.
