I guess I should probably offer an apology here. I am new to breeding and will likely be creating more mucky birds. There's SO much to learn. I have been looking for SQ blacks or blues to breed to my lav hens. Haven't got one yet. I had thought hatching a few lav/lav to get my numbers up was a good idea. Now... "poo on a stick" is my mental state. I really like the hens, too. The roo... is a roo and I have bruises to prove it. poo.

Nooo, no no don't apologize. We all have to get our numbers up so we have something to work with.
If your roo is giving you trouble- get rid of him and see if you can find a split too. That will get you more lavs and help start improving right away.

John Blehm is in Michigan. Sorry don't know my M state abbreviations. Is MA Michigan? lol

You are close to the CSRA. If you are on Facebook, you can ask to join the Hobby Farmers of the CSRA group.
There are a couple breeders in that group, even well known ones, who have W/BWA, you might be able to find some replacements locally.

My wheaten/BW eggs are in lockdown

I think only 4 of the 6 eggs are viable. Will find
out for sure in a few days.

I am the proud owner now of three Ameraucana pullets!

They are so curious and friendly. I love them already. I have a blue with lighter down, a splash [two pix of her] and a blue with darker down.

I thought surely this group enjoys baby pictures, so here are a few to smile over.
