Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

Oh no. Not the EE vs Ameraucana topic again.
If it's not an approved color, the ABC says it's not an Ameraucana. We have been over this.

On another topic, I have to cut back on birds again. Seems a few changes are happening with much of my disapproval. If there is anyone locally who's interested, I have a black Ameraucana hen (was told she's from show lines - considering the source, maybe Blehm?) and a lavender Ameraucana pullet I hatched from CrystalCreek's eggs. My lavender project hasn't gone any further and I can't continue - nor can I justify axing other projects I have a lot more into. I am keeping my BW/Ws though!

ETA: Project colors aren't standardized, but they breed pure, unlike mixed, mutt colors. There is a difference and it's quite annoying when someone comes on here and gets this topic stirred up again when they obviously don't have the knowledge to warrant their contribution. /end mini rant.

I would like to ask a question again
(the first time the only response came from Bobbie, she had one cockerel and took him to a sale)

I posted some pics of my Wheaton/Blue Wheaton pullets, I have one of the "occasional" white birds, my question was and still is;

Has anyone taken on these white birds that have started popping up as a project?

Since they are not a splash, it would seem in my newbie mind to be a project opportunity to work with them and see IF they would eventually breed true

anyone?

thanks,
Dan

Thanks Jean,

I know there is a "White" classification, I also know that this bird is unique in the color scheme, white but with some of the wheaton accents ,,,,,,

Not knowing much (yet) about the genetics involved it tempts me to find or create a few of these oddities and try a program to see what if anything comes from them.

Anyone else have any experience with these birds?

Anyone have any of these birds, esp in the Midwest, I might be interested

thanks again for any info

haha I'll take the lavender one dinner please

Your right we can all believe that we are right so we will drop this

Perhaps you would benefit from a little time reading and learning about Ameraucanas .... http://www.ameraucana.org/faq.html. Education is always a good thing.
