I still think it counts as an ameracuna is you are POSITIVE both it's parents are pure breeds

Doesn't matter who the parents are. If the bird doesn't meet breed description, it isn't "Ameraucana". Period.

Breeding chickens is all about what you see. If it doesn't fit any of the described looks for the breed, it's out.

If it truly has the phenotype of an Ameraucana the judge may very well place your bird but it may very well not breed true so YOU will know or at least you should know that you don't really have an "Ameraucana". So you got the ribbon but what have you got to work with?

There is nobody stopping you from trying to pass off any bird as an "Ameraucana". That is why there are so many people bringing home birds they believe are Ameraucanas, because they were told they were "Ameraucanas" - only to find out - they aren't.

no he is just not full bred by color
He is a easter egger. which are great birds. nothing wrong with them.
Even Ameraucana's where at one time well thought mixes.

I have 2 Ameraucana , 2 olive eggers and 2 Easter eggers. All 6 are my nicest birds . 1 easter egger lays a better bluer egg than my Ameraucana. One of my Ameraucana's and Olive Eggers look about the same .
I love them all. much nicer than my other two breeds.
