Which variety you want will depend on all you want to do. Most show breeders will tell you to go with the solid birds like white, black, or buff. If you would like a challenge, you could breed some of the lesser known varieties like the silver or brown red. If you want the most sociable birds, the whites, buffs, wheatens and blue wheatens are the route to go. It is really up to you knowing what and where and why you want the birds. Each variety has it's own personality and issues.
