I was looking at leg color,comb,and beard.Did not have any with slate legs and only a trio in the barred.Trying to find a genetic solution to the spotted legs that barring produces.Most were spotted legs.Hoping the trio will produce more with slate legs.

The BR with you Blue Roo will make sexlinks. All the roos will be barred.

If you use a BR rooster over blue hens as I did all chicks will be barred.The cockerels will be single factored.I have had silkie crosses in the past for broodies but no pics available.

Would a Blue AM x BA give about 50/50 blue vs black?

Were the silkie crosses kind of cute? Did they have feathered feet?

Pullets will be blue or black.No barring on pullets due to the sex linked nature of barring.Cockerels will have white spot on the head when hatched.White will vary as all the cockerels will be single factored for barring [only 1 copy of the barring gene].Yes on the blue black ratio.Silkie crosses will have feathered feet,crests and regular feathers plus the black skin.

I wish my AM pullets were laying, but I know it's not them since the eggs are light brown / pink. Drat. I wouldn't have minded some more blue AM's.

I am going to play with it in a few months..... just to see what I would get..... they will go in the EE pen. I don't have time to breed them more than once or twice. I have a straight combed BLRW and I will put her with my Black Am roo.

Here is a pic of a cuckoo project cockerel.He has light slate legs.No spots.That is just dirt in yhe pic.He is single factored.Slate is on the dermis layer.The other line with slate seems to be on the epidermis layer.Just EEs for now.Hoping to produce more.The hen he is from has the same leg color.Hope to continue both lines plus try a cross between both lines.
