So... we have Silver Duckwing Ameraucanas, but why not Golden Duckwing?

Just no interest in the variety? Has anyone tried creating a GD Ameraucana?

Jerry, how did you achieve the light brown? They look like BBR to me. I have some similar project birds posted here. Wish my cokerel had the clear hackles like your's does. My male bird has a bit of straw neck. I was attempting to produce red pyle ameraucana and had worked years ago with introducing some red pyle old english bred with white ameraucana bantams.......and as a result got these birds of color as well.

I used wheaten and silver.Light brown should have the black stripe in the hackles like silvers.BB red should be clear.

So sad to see what people do when it comes to Ameraucanas. Saw a Craigslist ad a few months back went something like this "I have a few extremely rare Americana chickens for sale. Two pairs at $55 apiece. These chiken (misspelled on purpose) eggs go for about $25 online. They lay pink, blue, an green eggs for you too." The picture looked something like this

. Biggest tip off that you're getting cheated on CL or something is when they use a hatchery's, this one used Ideal Poultry's, picture. Sad Sad Sad

Hello everyone- Newbie Chicken Tender here!

I am looking starting to breed Bantam Lavender Amer. for future show potential in our area. There have new been any bantam Amer. put of for show and I know this variety is one of the newest to be considered for the APA. Can anyone weigh in on what kind of project this would be? I already have Blue Wheatons that I am trying to find a full grown rooster to breed with this spring in N. CA and Blk Copper Marans. Both are special projects, one because of lack of breeders in the area and the other because the bloodlines are still being worked on. What kind of hatching odds do the lavenders have and how difficult is it to breed, hatch, sell, and/or raise? Alternate Bantam suggestions?
