Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

Paul has always answered the phone or returned my calls or emails pretty quick, maybe the holidays. Keep trying, his birds are worth the wait....my blacks & wheatons are some of (if not) the best i've seen & he's really a good guy with lots of knowledge. Contact info on ABC page is [email protected]........good luck

Is anyone else working on mottled Ameraucana's? Here is one we hatched out from a little hen split to mottled we got from a guy in southern missouri. Got a few others that are hopefully split to mottled so I can work on them.

Are you referring to Joseph Woodiel? I had some mottles from him, but the pattern of the birds I hatched was overly mottled. This was after her first adult molt at 1 1/2 years. I have a Black Mottled that also has way too much white. They are good layers though.

Yes got my original hen from Joe. Definitely still a work in progress.... Joe said he had a couple different starter lines and one line was known for the over mottle while the other line he was working with wasn't.

Hi, Ameraucana people!

I have a quick question for anyone in or around Missouri. I'm interested in getting some blue or blue wheaten chicks in the spring, and I found a breeder by the name of Joseph Woodiel in Fair Grove. I just wanted to ask if anyone has heard of, or has gotten birds from this breeder.

Thank you!

Edited to add: I just saw this breeder's name mentioned on the thread! Can anyone who has some of his birds post some pics? Thank you!

Thank you both very much! I am going to try to purchase some chicks in the spring, then. Thanks again!
