If their legs are green they are Easter Eggers, which should still lay you a nice blue or green egg. Ameraucanas have slate colored legsThey are. My husband calls them army man green because they look plastic to him!

5 weeks is too long to wait for some kind of a response when one has paid real money to "join", even if the position is unpaid.![]()
Well, I did that (send a follow up message to Michael), but I haven't heard anything from that, either. since everything was sent electronically, I know nothing got lost in the mail. lolI'm betting you'll get something in the snail- mail but I do get that impatience thing. Send a message to the Secretary/Treasurer Michael Muenks. He'll respond and let you know your status.![]()
And, I'm sure that is a valid concern. However, wouldn't it be more effective to bring those who don't know the difference between EE and true Ameraucana into the club and educate them? At least, those who are willing to learn and pay the money to join...I have heard a few comments about the ABC. It seems like the Ameraucana community is fairly slow to welcome newcomers. I am sure that breeders are wary of giving out birds or information because they are afraid that newbies like us are going to muck up the breed with "pretty" EE's....... Which is probably true in many cases
As have I. I've always felt this thread was very helpful...even when I didn't like the answers.I don't feel that the ABC is dissing new members at all. I have talked to a couple of the breeders that helped get the club started, actually purchased stock from them, they have been very welcoming and helpful getting started.
On this forum I have asked questions and always gotten responses, always much appreciated.
I do feel there is a need to improve communication with those that are joining. Replying to email inquiries should be a priority, esp when applications and payments have been made. At the very least a generated response should be setup upon receipt of payments.
Michael has a full time job and he has had family related things to deal with. It could take up to four weeks to get processed, or it could be sooner.
