Oh dear, I'm guilty there. I was wondering why some people kept putting an "s" at the end when talking about a specific bird.Ha,ha, I feel the same way and the other irritation is "Maran"![]()
I have researched and am looking for local Pure Ameraucana chicks. I found some within an hour and half of me but I'm having a hard time deciding if these are Pure or not. Do these look Wheaten and the leg color?? Group shot What do yall think?? My goal is to eventually hatch Olive Eggers and I really want to add a blue egg to my color basket![]()
You are so right. Ive emailed three breeders from the ABC and had NO replies yet. I also tried to get a hold of a breeder in Austin with NO reply. Im not in a huge hurry..i just want to get them before the kids start back to school in August and before it gets cold again!I'm sorry, but they look like Easter eggers.![]()
Pure Ameraucana chickens are really not all that easy to find. I've spent hundreds of dollars on hatching eggs for my Ameraucana's. Not all breeders have great quality birds either. My goal is to have nice egg color with a nice looking and social bird. I have mine as pets. My obsession is breaking the bank.
I do sell eggs, but for eating only. This pays for the feed and grains for my flock. I have other breeds for a colorful egg carton. Ameraucana's are my favorite breed. I joined the ABC just in case I decide to show them one day.
I have 2 sets if wheatens in my incubator right now. My first set is on lockdown and the others will hopefully hatch a few days after. This first set are the most beautiful egg color I've ever seen. I'll be keeping all the females. The second set will go to a new home since Im not too happy with the egg color. If my first set doesn't hatch, I'll try one more time through that same breeder.

Nobody emailed me from the breeders list. I have more eggs than I can handle and am sending out chicks too.
I do highly suggest you buy from here or the breeders list. Many will ship eggs. Our mail carriers are very careful with hatching eggs as long as its advertised on the outside box and if the eggs are fresh, I've had very good luck hatching whatever breed it may be.Quote:
Do you happen to be in Texas by chance???
