I just set 5 of my freaky B/B/S eggs in the 'bator. I'm curious to see if the flighty behavior carries over to the offspring if any of them hatch. The Blue roo that I removed seems to have been the cause of corruption in that coop. They have settled down alot, I actually walked into the coop the other day and did some cleaning in there and all 3 hens stayed on the roost like I didn't even bother them.
Almost every one of the W/BW Ameraucana eggs that I got from pips&peeps has hatched, 14 total went into lockdown. When I left this morning for work I believe only 3 of them hadn't, two of which were pipping.

That's incredible! I never have good hatches with shipped eggs. Mazeltov!
Me either, but sometimes I wonder if it's been the time of year when mine were shipped that had something to do with it. I would think this would be the best time of year to try if I were going to try again. It's still cool, not hot and humid, better for the hens laying so they aren't stressed, and better for the eggs during shipping.

So fess up, what are you going to attempt??? ...and welcome back!
Where is everyone today??? I hate to triple post, but here goes...
Besides Lavender, I know of a few people interested in Lavender Wheaten, including me. I've heard mention of Blue Lemon, Silver Blue, Red Pyle (I'm in on RP too). Black Gold is already in the works by a few folks. Hmmm... I know there are more but I can't think of them at the moment. Several tried Barred Ameraucana but weren't able to get past the incorrect leg color, so I think that's on hold.
VeryCherry: I think you're right on the time of year - my shipped eggs from Wayne arrive in June, and it was HOT here, made worse by the fact that the PO only held one box, and left the other one in the driveway. Fortunately, he sent a generous amount of extras so I still had a decent hatch, but I think the heat definitely took a toll. I'm trying to order eggs earlier this year.
