Isn't Levi just a cool looking guy! I can't wait to see him all grown up.

Cloverleaf- I LOVE the cranky broody picture. They make me laugh when they get all fussy and huffy!

So fess up, what are you going to attempt??? ...and welcome back!

Where is everyone today??? I hate to triple post, but here goes...

Besides Lavender, I know of a few people interested in Lavender Wheaten, including me. I've heard mention of Blue Lemon, Silver Blue, Red Pyle (I'm in on RP too). Black Gold is already in the works by a few folks. Hmmm... I know there are more but I can't think of them at the moment. Several tried Barred Ameraucana but weren't able to get past the incorrect leg color, so I think that's on hold.

I am holding on to one as a secret until I know if my eggs from the start of my project made it to develop and then I may not share until I can post some F1 pics. I have been playing with the genetic calculator since last year and I am hoping this one is as easy as it seems. I would love to do a mille fleur too.......just wish I wasn't restricted on the amount of chickens I can have. I have to do small breeding groups and give away the starters just so I can keep my current laying flock. If I am successful I would share the "recipe" on any of my projects but I have to try them out first

right now I have some eggs from my blue wheaten roo over a spitzhauben hen(white w/black tipped feathers) in the bator but that will take years to perfect it seems. I just happened to have this girl already but she lays a white egg so it shouldn't mess with egg color too bad, blue shanks, white skin. They are a crested breed but I was told a while back a crest isn't too hard to breed out. I figure until I can grow out the birds I need for my other idea I will play with these and see what I can come up with, if nothing else it will be interesting.

Cynthia: I read more than post, but wanted to tell you how much I've enjoyed watching Levi grow up! I keep looking for new pictures of him when I check in.

I just happen to have one lone egg in the incubator from a white Ameraucana crossed with a Silver Spangled Hamburg just for fun. The SS Hamburgs have the same pattern, blue legs, white eggs, as the Spitzhauben but no crest. Those eggs are due to hatch this weekend. I only got one egg because she quite laying, but I'm planning on putting another SS Hamburg hen I have in with a different Ameraucana male today or tomorrow. I've already had her separated from the other males for 3 weeks so she should be ready for her new BF.

I know what you mean about keeping things secret. I've had several people contact me about my Red Pyle project birds but I'm nowhere near letting anything go at this point, and have come pretty close to scraping the project a time or two to tell the truth, but I think this will be a good year, hopefully. I have a few good females and a male that is about half pyle to cross back to the females. Maybe this will be the year I can actually produce a pure bird or two. Cross your fingers for me! Good luck on your secret project!

Oh, and I'd love to see a Mille Fleur too. I have a plan in mind, just not enough room and time at the moment.

Did I hear someone say Lavender Wheaten!? Wow sign me up, even putting it in the Chicken Calculator, that's a beautiful bird!!
