Nooo. . . . If you only just waited exactly 2 weeks to post that.

My bators are full right now. . . Perhaps I just start from scratch on my own.

I know I've tried it on the calculator, and it takes quite a while to reach the desired outcome.

Hmmm....

You big tease! I wish I had another incubator.

Here are a couple of quick shots of my new Ameraucana chicks from Jean. There are 5 birds. Three are Silver pullets, one is a Wheaten pullet, and one is a handsome Black/Silver split male. I'm so excited about them! I like the Silvers even more than I thought I would.

This cage is just temporary of course. I plan to breed the Wheaten pullet with my Lavender cockerel, so she'll go into the Lavender pen soon. The silver girls and the male will get a pen of their own.

I know these aren't great pictures, but two of the Silver girls and the male don't quite trust me yet and were a little nervous, so I'll have to get better pics later after they settle in. The Wheaten hen and one of the Silver girls are already at ease with me and are real sweethearts.

Thanks Jean!!!

I'm glad you like them. I am very happy with the size the f1 males are coming up with. I hope it will only be another cross or two on this project until I have the size I want. I have one huge male in my grow out pen and another that is pretty close to his size.

If you work with the silver gals, they will become very tame, if you don't they can go the complete opposite direction.

They have been inside, so their beaks and toes may need some trimming.

Got one blue bantam chick hatched!! Got more coming!

Jean, just wanted to let you know the eggs arrived in perfect shape. They are beautiful. I will let you know how they do.

I actually did get silver spangled hamburgs last year for that purpose but gave them all away when I got pregnant. I found a couple of other projects that were less work than the spangled and should be easy to obtain type and just have to work on egg color(what else is new with these

) .

Mine have been gardening this week as well.

Oh- those are the buttercups. The EEs are AWESOME though! They are laying like crazy! My neighbors were so excited when they came to get eggs this week.

Happy Easter Holly & everybody else too!
