I must say I like the toe punch system the Smiths use for identification. It allows me to make notes and keep track of individual birds even at their young age...
My less than a week old BB/S Marans from the Bishops are healthy but seem docile in the brooder compared to the Ameraucana's..

I'm expecting chicks this week from the Smith's. Hope mine do as well. This will be my first experience with shipped chicks. Any advice? dak
