Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

That's how I see it. I may ask the question when I go back in the feed store. But not to create a conflict. More serious chicken farmers most likely wouldn't purchase these peeps. As for me, I'm going to give this little EE a good home.

Will someone please clarify for me on this hen...EE? She lays minty green blue eggs. Please excuse her ruffled appearance...not only is she my daughters favorite, she is also my Roos
***edit- she also is solid white...I realize she has some dirt on her from napping in clay dirt.

Since she is solid white, she might be an Ameraucana. I think from the picture, that her feet are the correct color, and her comb and face beard etc. look great.

As to egg color, not all true Ameraucanas lay perfectly blue eggs, there is some variation in color, and some lay more of a greenish blue.

To know for sure, you would have to mate her with a white Ameraucana rooster and see if she breeds true.

Her legs look slate, but if they have a greenish tinge then she is EE... egg color is still a work in progress with many Am's so that doesn't count her out...
Although, she doesn't look like she has that 'fluffy bum' and the almost a ruffled short skirt kinda look I'm familiar with on my Am's... sorry, am having a hard time describing that tonight, lol... :D
