Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

May I join the club? I have three blue ameraucanas, one project color, and the rest. I'm not really sure about! Could you help me out?

Why would you call the pale ones Easter eggers? They're getting the odd blue feather, so they might very well be splash. As for the others, I saw the parents, and they are purebred, standard colored ameraucanas. Wouldn't a non standard ameraucana still be... An ameraucana?

no because it's not standard. It is not a predictable color pattern. I have a blue hen but my rooster is blue wheaten. They do not recognize this cross because the results will be all over the place. The chicks must look a certain way at hatch as well at maturity. Those chicks will be considered EEs.

I don't really understand that... In any other species, even if the color is not correct, or can not be registered, it's still considered that breed if the parents are purebred. Why is it different for ameraucanas?
