Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

I look at it this way, BYC is full of people like me, that have a tendency to try and sound smarter than they really are. The Club, and I'm sure the Alliance as well, are full of some of the best breeders in the country. I come here when I want to talk to friends and have fun. I go to the club forum and read old threads to learn from the breeders

Well, Maybe one day I will sound smarter then I am also!

Thanks, but I'm hoping for a little more color for splash in his chicks, one of his hens in a super colorful splash, and a blue girl of his is super super dark! So fingers crossed maybe baby roos will look like that other roo!

Well, I just can't stand it anymore. Looking at all these pics of beautiful little Am chicks have made me decide to set my first (test) hatch of the year!

So, I'm gathering eggs and marking them for pen id. The target date is one week from today - Jan 30.

Can't wait to see some little fuzzy bottoms at Sand Castles Farm again!

I am in love with these chicks, but every one is sold. Mrs. Flock is so sad to see them go that I got the green light to get another Octagon :thumbsup
I've had so many calls that I will need another to be able to hatch enough to keep, as well as hatching my other breeds for other customers.
I couldn't tell the blacks from the blues yesterday, but today is more obvious. Most hatched eggs were from the splash rooster, but I have a lot to set from the black in the next batch. I've hatched 14 of 20 so far, and these were pullet eggs that were a little small, so I'm happy with the results
