Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

Ok, after thinking about all of this, throwing the leaky roo into the mix just complicates things. What I need to be doing is breeding to the splash, then watch those offspring to see if the girls are carrying. Yes, this is an advantage to a small flock. I hope to have several flocks one day, and best to nip this in the bud now. In the grand scheme of things, one year isn't that long

I wish you lived closer! I have 11 blacks from my Paul Smith chicks. I am sure I will have plenty of roosters you could pick from!!!!

I just thought I would post a picture of my white Ameraucana. I had posted pictures of her when she was a chick. She is 6 weeks old now! The second one is still in question splash or white! She is all white but has one feather that is very light grey on the end!

She's beautiful. I hope I have one just like her.

Ive been wanting ameraucanas since i first got into chickens and finally got two (assuming the wheaten really is a wheaten).

This 18 month old hen i rescued from an overbreeding situation. I got her pretty cheap because she is missing back feathers. I plan to make her an apron.

This darling is an 8 week old blue mottled. The breeders had pictures of the parents and i am confident she is a true ameraucana.

(The little one is a game bird i got because she is pretty and supposedly a broody breed.)
