Actually false. Hatchery sourced Easter Eggers don't have any Araucana or Ameraucana blood in them. They are what the Araucana and Ameraucana breeds we have now, were bred from. They just haven't been bred to any sort of standard.

Any chicken that carries one or two copies of the blue egg gene but that are not an accepted color is called an Easter egger. I have a few EE pullets that are a mix of two different accepted colors of Ameraucanas and they lay perfect blue eggs, but since they are not an accepted color they are easter eggers.

GOOD NEWS (for those following my incubator even). The temps have leveled out, finally, after much decreasing. I quickly and carefully candled each one just to check them. I could see movement in nine of the eggs. The tenth was too dark for me to see through with my humble flashlight. Thank you all for your support!!!!
