I would really appreciate your help. This is my last chance to choose between the two blues. They would not stand still in the sun which doesn't help since neither of them has the strongest lacing. These are my first so I am leaning. The first one is bigger with a much darker black blue to his coloring. The second one is a bit lighter with a neat but likely wrong patterning on his back

Difference is mostly just because one is more dominant and mature than the other. The lighter boy has better edging, and since they are both very similar in build, he is the one to choose.

Just because they are the same age, does not mean they will mature and develop at the same rate.
True. Thanks. I thought the other one because of size, bit I like the lighter ones coloring, but I don't know Ameraucana and the pictures of blues on the club page don't look like mine at least on my phone.
Have a great day.

I like the beard and darker color of #1. If it was me, i would chose him. The edging is pretty much non existent on both, but #2 doesn't have much of a beard and could be carrying a single copy. I am partial to darker males as there seems to be less leakage of silver with them. I'd check them both over carefully, beak, ears, eye color, etc. and let that weigh in on your choice also.

Thanks. What are you looking for on eyers, ears and beak. I am spending a lot of time learning HRIR which is my passion. These are a hobby part and I don't know the standard. I did read some on the club site.

I just skimmed earlier and didn't see the bearding... gotta x2 MrsBachbach... I ended up getting a single bearded gene bred into my one pen and it's been haunting me ever since... it's a huge pain in the @** to get out... I'm just waiting for my new line of pullets to mature and I'm replacing the whole pen... :/
