Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

Not great photos but these are my new birds. I fell in love with this breed. I had some stumbles getting started (a lady sold me eggs from a pen where she knows she has a cross beak problem). These birds are from an extremely reputable breeder. They are the ones that had one or another issue to not be show birds. Im extremely happy and I love to just watch them because they are so pretty. =D I plan on getting into breeding for show birds and I think these are the birds to do it.

So I got a call saying the birds have Laryngotracheitis....

Still waiting to see whether or not the cultures show MG.

At least I can have a plan of action and I'm reading that LT isn't passed into the eggs, and can be killed with Lysol or Oxine.

Oh, ugh...

I've not looked that up... dunno what you're in for, but so sorry, hon...

Double check the Oxine info... it might be only Activated Oxine that kills it and that stuff is caustic to use that way... good luck, still keeping for you...

My white ameraucana cockerel. I have a couple buff ameraucana chicks too. I will try to get good pics of them later. Didnt want a any roos , but maybe he will stay if he is friendly!
