That's what I wondered if there was such a thing as silver leakage. How do I know? I can wait and see if it's still there in several months. Is silver leakage bad for breeding my blues?

Any leakage is bad. And that does look like silver leakage.

Ok, I have another blue Cockerel to use, that is much darker but his shape isn't as filled out as the leakage guy. Thanks for the advise.

Shape can be fixed if paired with a suitable hen. Leakage is very difficult to get rid of.

Ear tufts is part of the Araucana standard. Ameraucana are a completely different breed.

Don't be sorry. Many large hatcheries list Ameraucana/Araucana as the same breed and they are selling neither. What they are selling are commonly known as Easter Eggers which isn't an APA breed at all (but I like them alot and so do many many people). Not hard to be confused with misrepresentation like that.

I've often had requests for just pullet chicks especially from urbanites that just want a few laying hens and some of them have to deal with ordinances that allow only pullets/hens. I plan to cross bantam buff Ameraucana cocks over the few bantam Lakenvelder and silver spangled Hamburg hens I have to produce sex-linked blue-eggers. The pullets should be buff with some black while the cockerels should hatch more whitish. These hybrid pullets/hens should be better layers than most bantams due to the hybrid vigor (heterosis).
