Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

Thank god you pipped in about the BW or I would have been forced to buy another rooster a $100 plane ticket. The boy I bought from her last year is soo beautiful! He was worth the $$. Merry Christmas to me

I'd guess that splash over black would be a better choice for the darker blues, but I THINK I read somewhere on here that for the best blues you want to do blue x blue...somebody correct me if I'm wrong here...

No, splash over black or vice versa; and I prefer blue to black.

Blue to blue breedings creates splash and black, but also several varying degrees of light blue. I'll get a picture of a couple of my blue gals tonight.

Gotcha! Thanks!

Here are the buff cockerels I have available. There are two people wanting these, so I will have an extra.

This one is $20.00

This is the blue wheaten I have available. He is still pretty young. I would like $20.00 for him.

These birds have all been vaccinated for mareks and for MG.

Does the $25 buff have blue in his tail Jean?

I don't know what color it is, I didn't look real close. I think it is more of a khaki kind of color, but I like his body, his overall color and his legs the best.

If it's Khaki, that means Buff birds have the dun allele. . . Which excites me. That's why I asked in the PM, too. Buff birds are quite often a mystery as to what they hold (besides a Wheaten base) So it's always nice to find which breed carries what.

Now to find out if they have Db/Db or not.
