i am planning on doing this to... i have a chocolate(dun) polish(bantam) hen that i am waiting to lay... and a pair of chocolate(dun) OEGB i am going to AI him to some of my LF black hens... i am planing on working on LF and bantam at the same time... glad to see others working on the same thing...

Dun & Chocolate are not synonymous. Dun works like BBS. Choc is a sex-linked color.

If people start calling dun birds chocolate, it will end up as much of a mess as the Ameraucana/americauna/easter egger thing.

ok it dun but in polish they call it chocalate i know the diffrence

ya the whole dun/chocolate thing is going to be a big mess... dun birds here in the usa have been called chocolate for a long time... but now that we actually have the true chocolate gene here that's not going to work lol... and the number of Project chocolate breeds is going to explode in the next couple of years... but the breeders of chocolate(dun) birds here are not going to want to change the name... if none of the hatcheries are going to change the name on there Americana's to EE's than do you really think Ideal is going to change the name of there chocolate OEGB to dun OEGB???

i think this is going to be a huge mess... worse than the Ameraucana/EE or the Lavender/self-blue...

anyways congrats on the progress of your project pls keep us posted...

I saw a new one today. Someone was advertising eggs for sale on Craigslist. They were from their aracondas.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I belive this is a cross between a chicken and a snake.

I think the public will have to be informed buyers. Doesn't dun work like blue??? If so, the question to ask any seller would be does it breed true? Does your chocolate to chocolate only produce chocolate offspring?

I feel so out of the loop I've not posted in forever! I'm so lost!

Anyway, I think a dun project would be very cool. I would work on it as well but I think I would use OEGB not polish that just me. I know its been done both ways. I thinks its awesome that there are people working on all kinds of new colors of Ameraucana. You never know I might just have to make some room for some more Ameraucanas! But really there has been alot of progress made. Now we need more breeders to start!
