Yes- the boys will start to show big splotches of blue or black in their backs. Watch around the backs of their necks too. You're looking for black or blue there, NOT red- which can look dark as pin feathers.

I think the Wheaten cross cockerel has pretty dark legs for a buff. Maybe him over the Buff x Blacks will bring out some dark legs. I don't like his comb though. It looks like a bumpy piece of gum on his head.
