I can tell by comb color at about 4-6 weeks. Much after that and I have to wait until MUCH later, like 4-5 months.

Hi all,
I lost my breeding rooster earlier this week. Looks to been a heart attack. I don't have a back-up. I was wondering if anyone had a solid Blue, Black breeding age Roo for sale. I'm located in East Central Ky.
Thanks

Sorry to jump the thread, but I was wondering if there is a good link/page pertaining to breeding wheatens/blue wheatens. Ive done a search, but am finding eggs at auction LOL. thank you!

Hard to say from just those two photos. I really don't like the comb on the first male shown, but that's me. A comb too tall often points to heterozygous pea comb, that, or it just points to the opposite of what one wants in a pea comb shape and size.

Otherwise, they look fine from the third photo. A few look a tad beat up around the muffs/beard, and a couple have narrow looking tail spread, but I can't judge from just one group shot.
