So, I know several others here have hatched W/BW eggs from Wayne Meredith either this year or in the past... well, has anyone else hatched a chick with feathers on their shanks?

Well... his job isn't done until the eggs are fertile. Crack one open or incubate them and get back to us.

Mine all look good except for the white one with a gimpy leg. Unless somebody is hiding with the faverolles- I really need to sell some chicks

I don't even understand where the feathering on the shanks would come from in the Wheaten/BW birds.

In the Lavs I can see some feathering maybe due to crossing in Lav Cochins? Or even Lav D'Uccles. Maybe some folks went that route instead of using Lav Orps?

But what has feathered shanks that is also Wheaten that one could use to breed W/BW?

Faverolles. But pardon my harsh saying, but it would just be outright dumb to breed Favs to Ameraucanas to get Wheaten. Otherwise, no other breed in the US.
