Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

I got a few EE's at the beginning of this year and one of them had no apparent tail until about 8 weeks old. Then it started to come in, and it turned out to be a roo. I think he was just slower developing so the tail came in late...but was his beard huge!

I just have to pat myself on the back for a second. I just got a report on some hatching eggs I sent aaaaaaaaall the way to Florida... 15/16 hatched!

I went out yesterday and took pictures of these two chicks, hatched together about 5 weeks ago. On the left is a lavender (self-blue) bantam ameraucana, on the right a blue (andalusian blue) bantam cochin. You can see the difference in their feather colors (and just about eveything else!)

I have seven W/BW chicks hatched on 5/11/11. 3 weeks. All but one has a lot of color in the wings and starting to show on the back. One has very little color mostly the same color as the down. Could I have been lucky enough to have hatched 6 roos and one pullet? I will try to get some pictures this evening for your opinions.
