I just got my Egg Color Reference Chart from the Ameraucana Breeders Club. I was so excited when I opened the mail! lol I went right out and compared my EE's eggs to it. So excited I am gonna try to hatch real Ameraucana's this summer. I imagine the "egg wait" will be even more excruciating waiting for these to lay than it was waiting for my very first hens to lay.

So what the heck is A1 about? Do Ameraucana's actually lay eggs that color? It is like...purple!

The color of the blues can vary from very light to even darker than this chick, but the individual feathers are not solid colored like with the lavenders, which have no lacing.
