Another point to think about when you contact top breeders asking for quality stock, is that is that they spend $1000's of $$$$ and years to improve their stock for shows. They may be reluctant to hand over (for a minute fraction of what they cost them), their very best birds or eggs to a total stranger.
Most are happy to share some birds/eggs with people they feel are in it for the betterment of the breed or for true joy of owning beautiful birds, but may be wary of total strangers. There are folk who want jump on the latest bandwagon to make quick cash from others work.
I would suggest joining the relevant clubs and get to know who is who, and let them get to know you. That would show commitment
