Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

Thought I'd post all the above together to highlight a point and then I missed the last one somehow but somebody finally mentioned that this is a "Splash Wheaten". I know Jerry in all probability meant "Splash Wheaten" but said "Splash". I only point this out because as someone who's followed this thread for like 5 years, I know how easily people get confused and many wouldn't know the difference between a Splash from a BBS and a Splash Wheaten from a WBS. So, in the interest of keeping confusion to a minimum, it's might be best if birds are referred to by their proper name. Not being critical and hoping this makes sense.

And btw, I would like to see a close up of that comb.

God Bless,

Good post!

I just have to say I have really grown to love my Ameraucanas. I just purchased a few hatching eggs to have a bearded blue egg layer. I love my rooster. I am awe struck by his coloring and I love how he behaves. He is wonderful to his hens and is always looking out for them. Here he is with his Quechua hen. My Ameraucana hen is broody at the moment.

I have hatched a few chicks from my pair and they are fast becoming my favorite birds. So friendly and entertaining.
More eggs to hatch. I look forward to see how my birds turn out and maybe get some more stock next year. Here is one of my blue wheaten pullets growing up. She is such a sweetie.

Ameraucanas, highly recommended!

Having fun hatching chicks from my own W/BW/SW Ameraucanas (Paul Smith x Pips&Peeps) plus another line (Cree) from hatching eggs I purchased to build up my flock. The W/BW/SW are my favorite color so far . . but I haven't gotten the Silvers that are on my list yet
