Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

Oh ok, yes her legs are green, they said she was a silver, but they were not registered breeders or anything, so who knows, lol. I just hope she's big and healthy and a good layer!!

Well if they said she was a silver.. go look at the adult Silvers in the ABC. If she ends up looking like that - they might be right. However.. if she ends up having yellow skin (check the bottoms of her feet when she grows up).. then she is mixed and not Ameraucana.

However, even if she is an Easter Egger.. she can lay nice blue eggs for you!

Hopefully they do NOT have green legs. They better have Slate legs. White skin. Yellow skin (Green legs) is a DQ. However, some judges do not know this... its a lot to read and judge in those SOP books.. so not every judge is completely up on every breed.

They are always blue, not green. The lighting may have something to do with it.
okay so what are slate legs? Like polish? It just confuses me that the babies have white legs but the adults have blue(lighting looked a bit green)

And I y'all look at my pictures ...and see in some way that they don't resemble ameraucanas please let me know ....they were bought as pure breads they all have grey or slate colored feet and very cute beards :) I have a few black and silver ....some of the reddish and black a white one and this one looks a little different could it be a roo ? Their feathers have not fully came in yet but this one has longer neck feathers ???

The description of the colors alone make them non standard colors and therefore technically easter eggers as they will not breed true. Even if the parents were pure bred, mixing colors makes them EEs.
Nothing wrong with EEs
