Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

Does anyone know if this pullet that has just started laying a lovely blue egg is a Wheaten or Blue Wheaten Ameraucana? I thought the lady that I bought it from said they were Wheaten....but then she was talking about blue wheaten. So can someone else point me in the right direction. thanks...

Her hackle feathers are severely striped, like you would see in a poor colored male. One can only assume that she would pass this fault down to her male and female offspring.

This also could be indicative of hidden genetics that she may be carrying. Typically if a bird is carrying partridge/wild type genes it can express itself this way... which would mean she isn't pure Ameraucana i.e. an Easter Egger.

It's a shame, she's got great tail color.

ETA: What color are the bottom of her feet?

Wanted to pop in and say that the universe must have heard me complaining about my bad luck with not getting the color chicks I wanted. Because 13 weeks in, I definitely have one rooster and eight pullets out of a batch of straight run chicks. How's that for beginner's luck?

If I kept all 8 I would be drowning in eggs by Spring so I have an acquaintance who breeds as a hobby coming to pick up the rooster and two pullets to start himself off with breeding Ameraucanas.

My BW pullets make a Trip through the field, around the house and up the stairs every morning to come cuddle in my lap for a few minutes each morning...they are the sweetest chicks lol

thanks to all that commented on my pullet. I should maybe take a picture of her outside to get better lighting however she is a very ginger colour. I will look at the bottom of her feet and get back to you on that one. J

I need help with identifying the grey/blue bird. :) I cannot remember if this bird is an EE or possible Ameraucauna. Please help me identify! Sorry about the pics, she's a shy girl so it is hard to get a close up of her. She has a full beard and muff. Thank you for your time!
