Figured I could jump in.
Ordering some Ameraucana chicks, for a hatch date of mid april hopefully. Buying them from Cliff (showinbirds on here). I am super excited! We have a good size flock of mixed layers here, but I am starting my own. Can't believe I am starting out buy spending $80 on just chicks, LOL. If I decide to just keep Ameraucana's in my flock though, I will be able to sell hatching eggs or chicks for some extra money

A mix.. I couldn't choose LOL. LF Black, blue, blue splash, lavender, wheaten, and blue wheaten. I'm getting 10.

I recognize that Ameraucana, too.


My Nora, Snow and Gypsy are old ladies, all 6 years old, with Gypsy the oldest. I love those three hens to pieces. They still live in the Old Hens' Coop where they enjoy a rooster-free life.

Hello everyone! I thought this might be the best place to pose my question. Please excuse my ignorance, especially if this has already been discussed to death.
I notice that pretty much everyone who orders Ameraucanas gets EEs. Is there any sure way to get the right birds? I have my first set of chicks which I got from a local ranch and after trolling the forums I seriously doubt that is what I have. I'm in love with the look of the ameraucana and so want more than just blue eggs. I'm starting to think I'll never get to have one.

Paul and Angela Smith ships chicks. I'm waiting for an order this month. Email him at psmith AT ntin.net ... just eliminate the spaces and use @. I don't know if he has met his quota of orders yet or not. Beautiful Am's from one of the top breeders of them.

He's not trying to sell anything. What I don't really like is his post on urban chicken keeping, he is very uninformed.

His post really ticked me off. What practical person buys those fancy coops? Someone like Angelina Jolie would have a coop like that with bling on her hatchery birds. OMG. What a twit.
