There is no "I" in Ameraucana
Best way to find out what color or if it is a true ameraucana is to find out who you got the eggs from.

I was told blue splash wheaten but haven't heard of this color before. And from what I've been told here that's not a color. Thank youBest way to find out what color or if it is a true ameraucana is to find out who you got the eggs from.
Quote: That is correct, "Blue Splash Wheaten" is not a color, however...
I was recently corrected that many people refer to Splash Wheatens as "Blue Splash Wheaten"...So I would guess that is what you have. Down color looks close for that, though most I have seen do not have quite that much blue color to them when that young, and are a bit more "gold" than "yellow"... that's why I suggested possibly Lavendar.
In the next couple of weeks as the chick feathers in you will be able to get a better idea as the Wheaten, Blue Wheaten & Splash Wheatens feathers come in differently. You will be able to tell sex and Variety very soon.
It is the same genetics as BBS, So I think sometimes when people use the combined term "Blue Splash" maybe they mean that it is from Blue to Splash breeding, meaning you can get either from the hatch?

I am still trying to figure out my wheaten/blue wheaten/splash wheaten hen. She is 18 wks old, and when I decide she is one, then I change my mind, or I see a feather that I had not seen before. I guess the best way to find out is to take some pictures and put them on here. My lavenders were a light grey blue so I had no trouble identifying them. The ones I had trouble with were the 3 blue splashes and the 2 wheatens. That is correct, "Blue Splash Wheaten" is not a color, however...

Can anyone critique my little pullet and cockerel for me? They were hatched from some eggs that I got from eBay that were purported to be Ameraucana, so of course I expect that they might be EEs. They are around 19 weeks old. Thanks!
