Thank you I still love them they both are so friendly so they will fit in with the rest of my flock. I am glad to hear they are pullets also I don't need any more roos.

I need some advice from the experts. I am new to breeding ameraucanas and I have a BBS flock. My black rooster has a white primary and one of my black pullets has white ticks on the end of her feathers. Are these traits undesirable? Should I remove them from the breeding pen?
DMRippy has pretty birds you should PM her. Not sure when she's hatching her Ameraucanas.
There are several Tennesseans on here. I just happen to be in E. TN, almost in NC. There is also Mrs. Bachbach from NW Arkansas that has a beautiful flock.
Thanks Dstokely!![]()
Cody can also look in the breeders directory at http://ameraucana.org/ for breeders in his area. I noticed a couple in Tennessee.
@jerryse. I am so excited to hear of the breakthrough. I knew you would make it happen. Thats definately music to my ears. I cant wait for my new clutch to grow as they have darker legs at hatch than they have had and I am thinking maybe I made a breakthrough as well. Here is another example of things that go against common wisdom . I have read in genetic texts that lavender will lighten slate or black in legs . Yet in my experience it seems to darken the leg color .![]()
Here is some lavender cuckoo project birds . It was said that it was impossible to get slate legs in the presence of sex linked barring . I found it was difficult but not impossible .

My reasoning on lavender making darker legs is working for me . A genetic break is probably involved also . Theories are meant to be tested .
This is my girl, I am SO SUPER proud of her.... but I REALLY wish she would start laying (only 2 eggs so far)
But, she sure is pretty! She is a bantam.... and yes, I probably should have scraped the perch clean before taking the picture![]()
I know her wings are a bit low... but for a bantam I think super good.
Her color is perfect, and those cheeks couldn't be fluffier!
